Project Update: Four Stroke Engines Installed

Project Update: 

 

In October, two (2) brand new 4 Stroke 60hp Yamaha outboard engines and accessories were installed on our main patrol boat. The engines were taken through the break-in period to ensure proper performance and longer motor life. Our aim is to reduce emissions and increase fuel efficiency on this primary patrol vessel by at least 20%.

 

The engines were purchased under the project “Enhancement of Resource Management Capacity within the Tobago Cays Marine Park” funded by the SVG Conservation Fund.

 

The TCMP expects to achieve a significant reduction in its carbon footprint and fuel costs through the use of these fuel-efficient 4-stroke outboard engines during their operations at the Park.

 

The overall goal of the project is to enhance the institutional capacity of the TCMP to effectively fulfill its mandate “to protect and conserve the resources of the Tobago Cays”.
